On Saturday, during our weekend trip to Brussels, my parents and I went to the chocolate museum, walked around the Grand Place (central square), visited a few tapestry shops, saw the famous mannequin pis statue, stumbled on a Red Bull soapbox race, shared an amazing Belgian waffle, and went to the costume and lace museum. I'm tired just typing all of that!
We had a tasty lunch at a sandwich shop and an amazing dinner at an Ethiopian restaurant, Toukoul, where we ate family style using "injera", a type of flat bread . I had "bozena shiro" (peas, shallots, spiced butter (kibe), and a hard-boiled egg), an eggplant dish, and "misir wot" (the most wonderful spicy lentils ever). Our waitress was so adorable; she had my mom feed my dad the first bite of our meal! Too cute.
