France: Nice - Colline du Chateau

Photobucket Views from my semester abroad.

Hayley and I spent our afternoon in Nice, France (read about our morning here) at the Parc de la Colline du Chateau, where we  stumbled on waterfalls, stunning views of the ocean, and the remains of an old citadel. We also walked around the port, where we saw beautiful houses and a World War two memorial. Our last stop was a final visit to La Promenade des Anglais as the sun began to set; from there we headed back to our hostel to make dinner and get ready to head to Milan early the next morning!

Stay tuned for pictures of Italy!

France: Nice - Old Quarter

Photobucket

Views from my semester abroad.

In April, Hayley and I took a backpacking trip around Italy and I finally have time to share pictures! We started our adventure off with a day in Nice, located in the South of France. In the morning we explored the Old Quarter (Vieux Nice) and saw the Notre-Dame de Nice, the Place Massena, and the Jardin Albert I. We also walked along La Promenade des Anglais, a walkway along the coast (I couldn't believe how beautiful and blue the water was!) and got lunch along the Place Charles Felix, where we had tasty pizza and browsed the street market.

Stay tuned for more pictures of Nice and Italy!

Denmark: Copenhagen

Photobucket Views from my semester abroad.

On our last day in Denmark Hayley and I wandered around Copenhagen, visiting museums and seeing a little more of the city. We went to the Nationalmuseet (the National Museum of Denmark), and the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek, a beautiful art museum with a ton of sculptures and works by Degas and Monet. In between museums we grabbed a quick lunch (a delicious avocado, mozzarella, arugula, and sun dried tomato sandwich) at the sweetest little coffee shop, called "Just-A-Nice-Feel-At-Home-Cafe-Coffee-Shop". How cute is that?

We ended the day with a quick trip to Frederiksberg Have (Frederiksberg Park); I wish we had had more time there, but there were ominous looking clouds and we had to get to the airport to catch our flight back to London! Overall, I think Denmark was one of my favorite places that I visited while abroad. There was so much to see, and people were really friendly!
