England: Stratford-upon-Avon

I spent Saturday exploring the cute little town of Stratford-upon-Avon with the other Emory kids currently studying in London. What at sweet little town! I loved walking around and seeing the places where Shakespeare grew up.

The train ride from London was about two hours, during which passed through gorgeous English countryside. The hills were all so green from the rain we've been getting lately! Our first stop was the home and farm of Shakespeare's mother, Mary Arden, where we saw piglets, pet sheep, watched a falconry demonstration (I got to take part!), and got hot chocolate. During the trip we also saw Anne Hathaway's cottage, ate a delicious lunch at the "Cottage Restaurant and Tea Gardens"--where I had homemade veggie soup and cheese and onion pie--visited the house where Shakespeare was born, and walked around the sweet little town.
