Washington D.C.

It's been awhile since I last visited Washington DC, so I was really pumped that Hannah and I got to take a day trip to The Capital after our trip to New York City! We took the train down, which was actually super nice and much more relaxing than driving.

While we were in the city we visited the capital building and the botanic gardens, wandered around the Air and Space Museum (and tried astronaut ice cream!), and walked past the White House. For lunch we made the [long and cold!] trek out to Founding Farmers, an awesome farm-to-table restaurant. Hannah and I split some wonderful skillet cornbread with honey butter and sea salt, and we both got delicious grilled cheese with roasted tomato soup. We finished the day up with another walk by the White House and the Washington Monument, a trip to the Holocaust Museum, and a visit to the National Portrait Gallery (and the sweet little Christmas market outside) before catching the train back to New Jersey!
