Spring Fever

I can’t believe that February is nearly over! I’ve loved this past week; Atlanta has been enjoying 70 degree weather and sun for the last few days, and campus is filled with Frisbees, shorts, and people enjoying being outside. What are you most excited about for spring?

I’m psyched to announce the winner of the Valentine’s Day giveaway, A Closet Fashionista! A big thanks to everyone who entered, and Etta Grace for hosting!

On Monday night, after class, The Boy and I celebrated Valentine’s Day. The Boy gave me some beautiful flowers, and we watched Jeopardy (which was super exciting because it was the episode where the computer plays the best players in the world), before to Whole Foods grocery to get ingredients to make dinner together. I made roasted vegetables (broccoli, yellow squash, brussle sprouts, and onions) and round sweet potato fries with cinnamon and salt, and The Boy made chicken and a delicious red sauce, which we put on top of everything. It was all delicious! We also watched Blade Runner (we’re romantic, right?). Between spending time with The Boy and the cute little care package my parent’s sent me filled with food goodies and a cute Sigg water bottle, it was pretty much the best Valentine’s Day ever.

On Tuesday, after class, my roommate, Sam, and my friend Whitney and I went to the library to reserve a study room for a group project. We also went to the tenth floor, where there is a wraparound observation deck, from which you can see all of campus, Atlanta, and the Center for Disease Control! In case you wondered what Emory University looks like, above are some shots I took.

Thursday night The Boy and I went to Emory University’s theater production of Beneath the Banyan Tree, which is about “seeking connection, community, and love”. The show was really interesting, and it was fun because I knew a lot of the songs they sang (think Fleet Foxes, Bon Iver, etc.) and I knew a few people in the show. The Boy had done the lighting for the event, and I lent my services after the show for the photo call, which was a neat experience!

On Saturday the Emory field hockey team played Florida State University at Emory. The weather was perfect—75 and sunny—and a bunch of people came out to support the team, including a few Gamma Phi Betas and The Boy. We played two games, and one the first 4-0 and the second 2-0. I actually scored two goals! It was a ton of fun, even though we all got super sun burnt. That night, my grandbig, Laura, and I went to CVS (for aloe for my sun burn) and Panera for dinner, and had a great time catching up.

Sunday was super quiet. I did a bunch of homework, and caught up with a few people, which was nice!
